The Norwalk Land Trust was incorporated in 1973 to preserve and protect open space in Norwalk, CT. the Land Trust currently stewards 26 parcels of open space, owning 64 acres and holding 24 acres via conservation easement.
We have a 21-member, volunteer board of directors and more than 700 members. We are a 501-C-3 tax-exempt organization.

Norwalk Land Trust recognizes the need to balance nature and development. Acquiring and preserving land protects nature and benefits Norwalk's present and future generations.

The Goals of the Norwalk Land Trust
Norwalk Land Trust is a non-profit corporation dedicated to preserve open space in Norwalk. In pursuit of this mission it seeks to:
* Increase open space through gifts, conservation easements and purchase
* Practice responsible stewardship of properties owned or managed by easement by the Trust
* Work actively with other groups on land-protection projects
* Involve citizen volunteers in maintenance and monitoring of Trust properties
* Promote community understanding of the benefits of protected areas through environmental education outreach efforts and access to Trust properties, where appropriate
* Advise landowners regarding the techniques and benefits of land preservation
* Ensure organizational and financial capacity to realize its mission
